As a (Senior) Backend Software Developer (d/f/m), you will develop HAFAS.engine, the backend of our travel planning and information system. Your responsibilities will include:
Your Role:
- Develop and enhance the backend of both, our new and existing routing stacks.
- Work on all aspects of the routing stack, from data management and business logic to configurability and service provider integrations, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Deliver clear and reliable solutions that handle the complexities of both public and individual transport data.
- Prioritize quality management and help implement changes thoughtfully and carefully.
- Focus on overall performance, considering scalability and cloud-readiness.
- Understand use-cases and guide product management in defining standards and shaping configurations.
Your Profile:
- Completed studies in computer science or a comparable field, alternatively relevant professional experience in software development.
- You have solid knowledge and multiple years of experience in C, modern C++, and/or Java
- You know and apply current methods of software development, feel confident in an agile environment and have experience with relevant tools, e.g. git.
- You understand complex problems and can translate necessary requirements into efficient and modular functionalities of a standard product.
- You have very good English language skills, German is a big plus.

We are looking for a Senior Sales Manager (d/w/m) Software TPS to support our TPS Sales Team.
Your Tasks
- In your role as Sales Manager, you develop long term relationships with our customers, usually together with our local / regional team.
- You master Software TPS portfolio, co-ordinate with PLM and System Management to achieve optimal solutions. In general, this comprises TPS.plan, TPS.live, TPS.trackworks, TPS.yards.
- You monitor the market from an entrepreneurial point of view and establish consistent customer strategy. You independently develop and prioritize opportunities and turn them into successful projects. This comprises negotiation and general interaction with customers and partners.
- You develop and evaluate alternative business models to generate new business with customers.
- You lead multi-disciplinary bid teams for medium and large opportunities across various locations and guide project teams during delivery phase.
- You provide continuous transparency on market and opportunity development to the management
Your Profile
- Degree in Software Engineering, Engineering or related technical discipline
- Experience with planning processes within the rail industry relevant for Software TPS portfolio and technical understanding of software design and development processes
- Preferably experience with core elements of SW TPS portfolio or similar competitor products
- Track record and experience of at least eight years of sales / business development / system management or comparable, customer facing function in the rail industry
- Understanding of market mechanisms and stakeholders, personal network within rail industry
- Project management experience is a further asset
- Open to travel of about 25% to your customers, external and internal partners and fairs / events
- Entrepreneurial spirit, customer first attitude and structured way of working
- Excellent knowledge of English both written and spoken; German knowledge is a further asset
- Your are willing to work from our office in Hanover for several days a week

As a (senior) software developer with focus routing algorithm, you will develop HAFAS.engine, the backend of our travel planning and information system. Your responsibilities will include:

- Design and develop innovative routing algorithms, while enhancing our existing solutions.
- Focus on algorithms for public transport routing in C++, integrating street network routing, and related functionality like name autocomplete and geometric questions - during both preparation and request processing.
- Deliver clear and reliable solutions that handle the diverse data-driven needs of our customers.
- Prioritize quality management and help implement changes thoughtfully and carefully.
- Consider performance in core algorithms, while keeping the overall solution in mind.
- Understand use-cases and advise product management in defining the product standards
Your Profile:
- Completed studies in engineering, mathematics, computer science or a comparable field, alternatively relevant professional experience in software development.
- You are passionate about transforming the way we travel by creating the travel information systems of the future.
- Deep understanding of the mobility ecosystem and its actors.
- Strong algorithmic background with a first experience in routing algorithms for public transport and intermodal routing.
- The ability to understand and build complex logic, while also breaking down these topics to be explainable to our B2B customers and travelers.
- Experience in software development in C++ or Java or similar.

We are looking for a Technical Writer / UX Writer (d/f/m) to join our product team. In your role, you will be responsible for these topics:
Your Tasks
- Develop comprehensive documentation for internal and external use, including user guides, release notes, API documentation, and knowledge base articles, to support our products and empower users.
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers and QA specialists to understand product requirements and user needs and create text content that fulfils those needs
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure that content and design are aligned and contribute to a cohesive user experience.
- Review and provide feedback on product designs and prototypes from a content perspective, ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment with brand voice and tone.
- Continuously iterate and improve upon existing content and documentation based on user feedback, usability testing, and data analysis.
- Manage the localisation and translation of UX text content for international audiences
- Conduct research to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX writing, technical communication, and accessibility.
Your Profile
- In addition to your completed studies in journalism, technical writing, UX design, or a related field, you have practical experience as a UX writer, technical writer, content strategist, or in a similar role in a SaaS software company or digital product environment.
- You have strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English (German is an advantage), with a keen eye for detail and the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise content.
- You can understand complex technical concepts and explaining them in simple terms
- You have a deep understanding of UX principles and best practices, with a focus on usability, accessibility, and inclusive design.
- You are competent in using content management systems (CMS), version control systems (e.g., Git), and documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira). Proficiency I using Figma is advantageous.
- You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment and familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.
